  • Come to Bethlehem and see. Written by Dale Marsh (Illustrated by robber Squire)

    Child 1 – God’s first people sinned.

Child 2 – Then God promised to send his very own son as a Saviour for them.

Narrator – Come to Bethlehem and see God keeps His promise lovingly!

Child 1 – When the time was just right God sent Gabriel from heaven

Child 2 – to bring Marry news of the Gift she’d been given

Child 1 – “You’ll soon have a Baby – a sweet baby Boy. He will be the Saviour”

Child 2 – Mary smiled with great joy

Child 1 – Then “Don’t worry, Joseph,” Gabriel said in a dream.

Child 2 – “Mary’s Babe is the Saviour!” (That’s what Jesus means)

Narrator – Come to Bethlehem and see how Gabriel’s words soon come to be!

Child 1 – Now Ceasar Augustus ruled over the land, and he made a decree.

Child 2 – He said, “I demand that everyone in my country go back to his or her birthplace to be counted for tax.”

Child 1 – So Mary and Joseph did as the king said, but Bethlehem’s inn did not have a bed.

Child 2 – The whole town was crowded, so crowded that they could only find space in a stable to stay.

Narrator – Come to Bethlehem and see God’s plan to save humanity!

Child 1 – As night settled in over Bethlehem town, a Baby’s new cry joined the other night sounds.

Child 2 – “God’s Son,” whisper Mary, as she kissed her new Boy. “He’s Jesus,” breathed Joseph, beaming with joy!

Narrator – Come to Bethlehem and see Jesus born for you! For me!

Child 1 – Now outside of town, watching over the sheep, some shepherds quite suddenly wakened from sleep.

Child 2 – The sky, dark and quiet, erupted him right! The shepherds jumped up and were shocked at the sight!

Child 1 – Then, oh, what a sound! angels started to sing a heavenly song to the new Savior King!

Narrator – Come to Bethlehem and see angels singing joyfully!

Child 2 – “Let’s go!” they then shouted. “Let’s go and find out what all of these angels were singing about!”

Child 1 – Then the shepherds took off: feet pounding, they ran.

    Child 2 – “A baby? A manger?” We don’t understand.”

Narrator – Come to Bethlehem and see Christ humbly born for you and me!

Child 1 – At last they found Jesus, as the angel had said:

Child 2 – The Saviour, wrapped up in a small manger bed.

Child 1 – “It’s Jesus! The Baby!” the shepherds knelt down to honor their King, much too small for a crown.

Child 2 – Then, after a while, with smiles of good cheer, the shepherds left shouting to all who would hear,

Child 1 & 2 – “The Saviour! The Christ Child! Messiah has come! This Baby named Jesus is God’s own dear Son!”

Child 1 – Now we, like the Shepherds can tell of Christ’s birth.

Child 2 – We’ll share the Good News all over the earth!

Narrator – Come to Bethlehem and see Christmas joy for you and me!

    Niño 2 – “¿Un bebé? ¿Un pesebre? No lo entendemos;
